Taking a walk in Griffith

Griffith's newest bridge at the Community Gardens

In Griffith for a short time and want to see more than just the main street? Take a walk. It will give you more insight into the community and is good for you too. GriffithGateway.com has mapped out some options for you. Simply print out the map and off you go. Keep an eye on this site as more walks are added in the coming months.

The Cross Section Walk takes about 2 hours and is 6km. It takes you through the leafy North Griffith Streets that still echo the Walter Burley Griffin design of Griffith, along the ridge of Scenic Hill and returns you to the Griffith Visitor's Centre via streets with classic fibro '50s houses. Try our Bridges Walk. A meander along the Main Canal, through the Community Gardens and on to Willow Park. Take along a copy of the Uptown Griffith Cultural Walk for the trip back. About 4kms on flat off road paths.

You should also visit nearby Cocoparra National Park for some interesting and sometimes challenging walks.

If you are after something faster or more competitive, try the Griffith Feral Joggers who meet at the Green Water Tower on Scenic Hill on Saturday afternoons.
