Festivals in Griffith

La Festa

Held every Easter, La Festa is a celebration of the many cultures in Griffith. There's food and song and dance and, of course, wine.

In the depths of winter the UnWined festival provides a warm and cosy view of the industry that makes Griffith famous. Come along for the wine and the food, but stay to have a good look around at what the city has to offer.

Festival of the Salami

Ah! My favourite. Dont just take my word for it, the Sydney Morning Herald also agrees. Essentially this started out as a competition to decide who made the best salami. And guess what? Everyone is a winner at this competition. This little festival provides a fabulous opportunity to taste genuinely homemade salami, tomato sauce, breads and biscuits and much more.

And want to know more about how to make salami and other cured meats? This book is great. Charcuterie: The Craft of Salting, Smoking, and CuringCharcuterie: The Craft of Salting, Smoking, and Curing

Festival of Gardens

The herald of spring for the city. Yes, I know that spring will already be in full swing with warmer weather and longer days, but finally we can see what these seasonal changes make to our gardens. Classical gardens, native gardens, waterwise gardens and more are open to the public.

And as an added bonus are the citrus sculptures. Not everyone's cup of tea, so to speak, but fascinating nevertheless.

Large sculptures made out of citrus are a feature of Griffith NSW every spring
